1. The number one reason for this class is to bring glory to God. Therefore, students
are expected to be in control of their behavior and emotions at all times. Any behavior that
does not bring honor to God and show respect toward the instructor(s), fellow students or
parents is not acceptable.
2. Belts are to be tied correctly before class begins. The belt shows what level you are
and signifies how far you have come in the race. It should be treated with respect and
care. All students should learn how to tie their own belts as soon as possible.
3. No chewing gum, candy, food, etc. during training.
4. Jewelry such as bracelets, watches, rings, earrings, etc. should be removed during
training.
5. There will be no profanity under any circumstances.
6. All students should answer questions from the instructor with the term “sir” or “ma'am.”
7. Students should enter the building quietly with a bow as a sign of respect. Sign in at
the desk and check for fees due or new information.
8. Just before class begins students should begin stretching to prepare for class.
9. Students should use the restroom before class to avoid interruptions during class.
Students may not leave line without permission of the instructor(s). Students who leave
line and re-enter line must do so with a bow.
10. There is no talking during training unless a student is asking a question.
11. “Horseplay” such as running, hitting, wrestling, etc. before, during, or after class is
not permitted.
12. There will be no sparring without the instructors direction and/or supervision.
13. Students may not practice any weapon in the room unless they have the rank to use
that weapon. Do not drop weapons on the floor.
Parents are not to help children during class or testing. That is the job of the instructor(s).
This includes sending signals, showing kicks or punches, walking in line, etc. This does not
help the children in class.
Anyone needing to use the rest rooms should walk behind the class to get there in order
to avoid distractions to the class.
It is parent’s responsibility to keep non-participating children quiet while class is being
conducted. Karate is like any other class, learning is taking place. Please do not allow children
to make noise, run around room, etc. while class is being conducted.
Cell phones, two way radios, etc. are to be off or on “silent” during the class. If you must
use your phone, please take it out of the room.
